Dirk Savage was the brother of Charles S'Avage, the ex-husband of Anna Savage, the late husband of Cindy Cunningham, the father of Will and Liberty Savage and the adoptive father Dodger Savage and Hilton Cunningham.

Backstory[]
Dirk was the older brother of Charles and growing up Dirk often stuck up for his brother by beating up anyone who attempted to bully Charles. Some point in his early adult life Dirk met Anna Blake whom had a young son in Dodger whom Dirk would later adopt while with Anna early on Dirk finds himself comforting her after she suffers from nightmares due to the abuse she endured by her ex-husband and Dodger's biological father, Patrick Blake, Dirk himself would later have two children with Anna in Will and Liberty Savage. In April 1997, on Dirk's birthday Anna left Dirk suddenly and she left him merely a letter to say her goodbyes.
2011-2013: Arrival[]
Dirk arrives in April 2011 along with his son Will Savage and adopted son Dodger Savage to join his daughter Liberty Savage having a engagement party to Ethan Scott and due to the fact she has no room in her flat, Dirk along with Dodger charms Myra McQueen and end up staying with the McQueen family for some time at their home 26 Leigh Road while there Dirk ends up having many of flings with Myra, Dirk along with his family are later joined by Dirk's nephew Dennis Savage in November 2011.
In 2012 Dirk supports his daughter Liberty over her exam results later in the year Dirk ends up meeting his ex-wife, Anna's abusive ex-husband and Dodgers biological father Patrick Blake along with Patrick's daughter Sienna Blake however knowing what Patrick put Anna threw before he got with her, Dirk punches Patrick leaving everyone stunned after many of arguments with Dodger, Dirk soon come to accept Dodger to get to know his biological father.
In 2013, Dirk proposes to Myra but she declines telling Dirk she's not ready for that this causes them too split but on good terms when his son Will is involved in a serious accident and is apparently paralyzed, Dirk is angry and blames Wills then girlfriend Texas Longford for the accident that led Will to become in March 2013 Dirk discovers that Anna is still alive shocked but wanting answers Dirk finds it hard to forgive her leaving him but soon understands when its revealed that Anna suffered a mental breakdown, Dirk is devastated when Anna is found dead from an apparent suicide and in November 2013 Dirk discovers that his own son Will is a psychopathic murderer who killed Texas and Anna, Dirk tries to reason with Will but his too far gone after a show down with Dodger, Will is arrested leaving Dirk devastated and disgusted by Wills actions.
2014-2018: Relationship to Cindy Cunningham, Family & Death[]
In 2014, Dirk ends up growing close with local business woman Cindy Cunningham but finds himself soon on a hard rope when Cindy has a breakdown and claims that she's seeing her ex Rhys Ashworth he supports Cindy's daughter Holly Cunningham throughout the ordeal and when Cindy is better she's thankful of Dirk being there for both her and her daughter and ends up in a relationship together and Dirk the later moves in with Cindy feeling like his won the jackpot. In October 2014, Dirks younger brother Charles S'Avage arrives as a new Doctor at Dee Valley University Hospital and in December 2014, Dirks son Will returns and is seen writing a letter to Dirk in his Prison cell.
Dirk receives the letter some weeks later in January 2015 and visits Will but tells Will not to contact him or his family again Dirk later tells Cindy that he visited Will and things get worse when Will manages to escape and ends up kidnapping both Theresa McQueen and Maxine Minniver who both have connection with Dodger. Dirk later finds out that Will has had a fall from the roof after being pushed off by Nico Blake but Dodger takes the blame and goes on the run devastating Dirk. Dirk is left in horror when he witnesses Will inject Cindy with a heavy dose Morphine but Cindy survives when Will goes into cardiac arrest after being Injected by Potassium Chloride by The Gloved Hand Killer. Dirk decides against pressing the emergency button which could of potentially saved Will's life after which Dirk starts to feel guilty and ends up confessing to Cindy what he had done but Dirk is told by Cindy that Will was beyond saving to the point he wasn't his son anymore and Dirk did the right thing. Dirk then later adopts Cindy's son Hilton Cunningham. Dirk is also mugged by Robbie Roscoe but Dirk soon finds out and threatens Robbie not to do it again and takes back the money Robbie had stolen from him Dirk also finds out in September 2015 that Holly had been kidnapped by Trevor Royle so Dirk jumps Trevor and attempts to stable Trevor to the wall but is stopped by Robbie, Dirk is heartbroken that his brother, Charles is killed in October 2015 after being accidentally shot by Trevor but finished off by The Glove Hand Killer. Dirk is also disheartened but happy when his nephew Dennis leaves to start a new life with his girlfriend Blessing in Blackpool.
In 2016 Dirk is due to marry Cindy but unknown to Dirk, Cindy married the new Dog in the pond owner, Mac Nightingale when she had a breakdown and on top of that Cindy has another son with Mac, Alfie Nightingale whom was born back in 2001 this is outed just after Dirk marries Cindy which Dirk is furious and even divorced Cindy however after a few months Dirk forgives Cindy. Dirk later finds himself supporting Cindy throughout Alfie's Cancer this prompts Dirk to propose to Cindy again and she accepts only this time Dirk and Cindy wait for Cindy to be divorced from current husband Mac. Dirk is joined by another Nephew of his in Nick Savage in June 2016 but Nick brings drama to Dirk's door when his accused of raping Ellie Nightingale in which he did, Dirk confronts Nick over this claim but Nick denies it and convincingly to Dirk which allows Dirk to believe Nick.
Dirk is unsure when Nick begins a relationship with Holly in 2017 but accepts knowing how happy they make each other Dirk warns Nick not to hurt Holly as she's like a daughter to him however like Ellie, Nick would later rape Holly this time Dirk is furious and he tells Nick he has to go to the Police in which Nick does and his charged and sent to six year in prison, Dirk apologise to Ellie for not believing her and also apologise to Holly for not protecting her enough but both forgive Dirk. Dirk and Cindy are later joined by Milo Entwistle and it's revealed his real name is Simon Jones and he had been to prison its then revealed that he was in fact the one who caused the car crash that had killed Cindy's parents back in February 2004 but Dirk and Cindy are unaware of Milo's pass for now later Dirk is furious to discover that Gavin Armstrong is stalking Cindy and ends up beating him up but Gavin ends up blackmailing Dirk however Gavin is later but unintentionally killed by Milo.
In 2018 number of thing happen before leading to Dirk's death. First Milo uploads a sex tape of Nick and Holly on Dirks laptop which makes it look as so Dirk had kept the video when Holly discovers this and gets the wrong impression she's disgusted with Dirk as to is Cindy even though Dirk protests his innocence but eventually does enough to prove he was not watching the video. When Milo's brother Theo Jones arrives to blackmail Milo, Dirk finds out who Milo really is at first Dirk gives Milo an ultimatum to tell Cindy that he killed her parents but when he discovers Milo is being blackmailed by Theo, Dirk threatens Theo and he leaves and later Dirk agrees not to say anything to Cindy about Milo being her parents killer. Dirk later finds out at the wedding of Holly and Damon Kinsella that Cindy had in fact slept with Damon this devastates Dirk who tells Cindy he wants nothing more to do with her and after an argument with Milo later on who pushes Dirk in a pool in an attempt to save Dirk, Milo accidentally pushes a button which electrocuted Dirk killing him this devastates Cindy and Holly. Liberty and Dennis later return for Dirk's funeral although Dennis leaves, Liberty stays. Milo is then later outed for his crimes and is sent back to prison.
